THE PROBLEM WITH “FALL TO PIECES” (Calling Bullshit as I See It )

I love the song “Fall to Pieces” by Velvet Revolver but it’s unpleasant for me to watch to watch the video for the song. When I see an emaciated Scott Weiland “pretending” to struggle with his demons while listening to the lyrics it’s infuriating. At one point you see two girls in a bathroom at a show and Scott Weiland alone in a room with what appears to be filled with alcohol and drug paraphernalia. There’s a rush to see which room has a suspected overdose. Duff Mckagan reaches Weiland’s room and finds him on the floor, he picks him up and drags him up some stairs to a room. They argue, Duff pushes Weiland against the wall, they both slide down it while Duff holds Scott in his arms understanding the pain he’s in. Too bad that didn’t happen in real life.

Scott Weiland has admitted on several occasions that he has either a “mood disorder” or “Bipolar Disorder” that he wouldn’t take medication for. Drugs didn’t kill Scott Weiland, Mental Illness did.

He used drugs and alcohol in the place of medication, it’s one of the reasons he couldn’t maintain Sobriety. The pressure to remain “creative” and tour doesn’t help. Everyone else in Velvet Revolver had addiction problems also, some of them did a backslide during the time Scott Weiland was in the group. Scott did manage around 2 years of some sobriety until his brother died. Then everything was downhill from there.

You can’t look at the video and tell me you see a healthy person physically or mentally. The members of his band after Velvet Revolver knew he was off the rails and their guitarist had died from overdose 8 months before Scott Weiland’s death.

Maybe if Doctors or anyone had tried harder to deal with the Psychiatric aspect of his problem he might still be here along with many others. The first thing anyone sees is an ADDICT and not the cause of the addiction.

This year the focus of the conference is different and long overdue. Their main agenda is Sex, Drugs & Rock and Roll.

The frequent stories of musicians and artists who battle mental illness and addiction will be part of it. Also is there a connection between creative minds and serious mental health concerns?

Can you still create the same music or art while sober or in treatment for mental illness?

How the Entertainment Industry is playing a bigger role in helping fans with their own issues by taking away some of the stigma and being honest about their own struggles.

The biggest problems are still the Managers, Family, Labels or anyone depending the artist for money. Putting a person at risk of death so you can make a buck or live in a big house is something that disgusts me. Unfortunately I’ve seen it up close many times. I’m not sure it will end anytime soon.e51a54c1c8a5858454ba1426ad47e928

I’m not sure how exactly to start. I’ve been noticing lately in my newsfeed, stories concerning the Entertainment Industry, The Illuminati, Conspiracy Theorists, Politicians, Aleister Crowley, Anton LaVey, the West Memphis Three, and the list goes on. For some reason I find all of it fascinating subject matter.

The problem is where do you start?

The Illuminati is a name given to several different groups in history representing a “secret society”. They mostly refer to the “Bavarian Illuminati” founded in 1776 that opposed superstition, abuse of state power and religious influence over public life. They also opposed “Obscurantism”. This is the practice of deliberately preventing the facts or full details from becoming known concerning any matter.

Founded by Adam Weishaupt, who spread the ideas of The Enlightenment, a movement which included a range of ideas centered on reason as the primary source of Authority and Legitimacy. It advanced ideals like tolerance, liberty, and separation of church and state.

Recruitment for The Illuminati started with the Freemasons. The German Freemasons were targeted early on. The estimated number of members at the end of 1784 were anywhere from 650-2,500. There’s not much accuracy because of the secrecy of their organization.

The decline of their organization was brought on by their own egos and infighting. Members bragging about Political sway, fighting over who came up with certain ideas and who was in charge eventually caused them to crumble.

Occultism is the study of occult practices including magic, alchemy, extra sensory perception, astrology, spiritualism, religion and divination. Certain belief systems are included like Wicca, Paganism, Thelema, Hermeticism, and Theosophy.

ALEISTER CROWLEY  10/12/1875 – 12/1/1947

Educated at the University of Cambridge, Crowley took part in the Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn. An organization devoted to the study and practice of the occult, metaphysics and paranormal activity during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.

The original founders were William Robert Woodman, William Wynn Westcott, and Samuel Liddell Macgregor Mathers, all Freemasons.

Crowley had disagreements with them all. He had a Narcissistic personality and indulged in drugs and sex more than other members. His ideas would have exposed the organization to the public more, and his behavior was erratic. He eventually left them and went on a trip to Egypt where he was “contacted” by an entity known as “Aiwass” who provided him with the “Book of Law”. It served as the basis for Thelema. He started a new organization The AEon of Horus. It’s creed would be “Do what thou wilt”.

ANTON LAVEY  4/11/1930 – 10/29/1997

Anton LaVey was the founder of the Church of Satan and writer of the Satanic Bible. Neither really has anything to do with Satan.

The Satanic Bible encourages the exploration of your own nature and instincts. It promotes freedom of pain and fear.

Unfortunately when someone is lost, lonely, or feels like an outcast they look for something different to help. Some turned to the Satanic Bible or Aleister Crowley.

The problem with this is most people DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE READING. LaVey stole various theories and ideas from so many different sources like Ayn Rand and Ragnar Redbeard. He also took from Crowley’s Magick: Elemetary Theory. He exaggerated his childhood or outright lied about events. He said he was in the circus Barnum and Bailey but never was. He also said he had an affair with Marilyn Monroe that never happened.

People like Crowley and LaVey were not selling anything new. Greek philosopher Epicurus believed that “pleasure” was the greatest good, the way to obtain pleasure was to live modestly, gain knowledge of the workings of the world and to limit one’s desires. This would lead to a state of tranquility, freedom from fear and absence of bodily pain. Others who followed Epicureanism were the poet Horace (Carpe Diem), Virgil, Julius Caesar, and Thomas Jefferson.

Crowley and LaVey both had egos, pride, a need for power and to be adored and admired. If they were around today they probably would have been diagnosed with a few illnesses in the DSM-V. That being said some of it DOES MAKE SENSE TO ME.

I DO NOT THINK A PERSON’S CHOICE IN TATOOS BRANDS THEM AS PART OF AN ORGANIZATION OR CONSPIRACY. Sometimes a tattoo is just a tattoo. People need to get over that aspect and focus on where the real threats are in our world and it isn’t Johnny Depp, Henry Rollins, Dave Navarro, or Eddie Vedder.

If you want to investigate tattoo conspiracies you could go to Russia and try to get Putin to drop his pants. See if he has stars on his knees. Now that is something I would pay to see.
